In this phase, the patient has an initial interview with the doctor in charge of this process, he realizes a complete clinical history, checking all the previous most important antecedents or background to take care during the surgery, beside a careful physical exploration to determine if there are previous risks to be corrected. The case will be presented to Dr. Olivares.

During the first interview in Obesity Surgeons Mexico we are focused to give all the information that the patient requires about different surgery techniques worldwide accepted, we believe that the patient must understand the surgical techniques to decide with the doctor, which is the best option depending on your needs and life style. Not all patients are candidates to Gastric Band or By Pass. Each patient requires a specific technique to get the ideal body weight.

After checking all surgery theory aspects and after watch the animated videos of the different techniques, it is important to check blood preoperatory studies, electrocardiogram, and the thorax X-ray study.

When all the studies are done, a preoperatory valuation is done by our Cardiologist and the Endocrinologist to determine your health state, and correct all possible problems before the surgery.

The Anesthesiologist realizes a preoperatory valuation one or two days before the surgery, because you will need General Anesthesia, it is important to know the patient’s aerial via variations and if we will require specially equipment for the patient’s intubation and ventilation, because we know there are patients with difficulties for aerial intubation.

The preoperatory phase will take from 3 to 5 days depending on each patient.

If all valuations doesn’t show any contraindication, the surgery can be realized in the date and hour programmed.
